C'mon, Karen, you've got to admit this post of yours is funny:
Well, I didn't think so when I posted it. I pronounce the name of spice the way Julie Child does, so the double entendre didn't occur to me.

But I got the joke when you made your comment and I found that funny. It also drew my mind to the notion of alternate uses for Chinese eggplant. Raw and unsplit, of course.
