KLP, not that I had anything against Reagan but I wouldn't put him too high up on that pedestal. If I remember correctly, when our embassy and shortly after the marine barracks were bombed it was during Reagans term. The CIA sent agents into Beirut to dig into who did the bombings and in short order they knew that it was done with Iranian money, Syrian Intelligence and carried out by hezbollah (or was it hamas). Something went wrong when the information got back to the US because it seems nothing was ever done about it. It could be argued that this lack of retaliation was first at giving OBL the impression that the US was a paper tiger. I'm just going from memory so if I've gotten something wrong...... be gentle.....<gg>
