<<"The combined entity would create a giant with the largest local
exchange customer base in the country, stretching from Maine to Virginia". Seems
to me there is "gold" in CAP. BA/Nynex may have the largest ADSL deployments
in the country.>>

I agree. The BA/Nynex reach is tremendous. I would also put SBC or GTE
(in talks w/AT&T) as a very close second for stratgeic reasons.

SBC - Covers 7 of the top 10 cities in America and all of Calif, where
30% of internet traffic orginates or terminates. Consumer
acceptance would certainly drive volume.

GTE - National ADSL internet plan....this will be their "bread & butter".
I suspect they would move faster then any other Rboc because
they are not regulated ...and have advanced partners (Microsoft
& Cisco) in their game plan and are application focused.

I still think a national GTE deployment or an alliance would Cisco
would more than keep Amati busy. And perhaps other major business
would be difficult to truly deliver with limited employee resources.

Now if Westell bags a major portion of the GTE contract ....then the
intial market share war could go to CAP.

I can't wait for the GTE announcement...and who is in that Amati booth
at Supercomm...could be a large piece of the "Amati Puzzle".
