Without developing a futile 1:1 debate, Greg ... MS Centric environments? Biased, moi? Er, have been solely in Unix for 10yrs, working on X apps since 1990. Finance (read investment banks) are (outside of legacy CAD shops) THE most Unix centric IT folks out there, for good reason. And their good reasoning appoints NT dekstops and (some) servers. Sorry, maybe working with a dozen or so different global investment banks, day in day out, doesn't reflect real IT? Hmmmmmm .... X and mwm are by far the best GUIs around still, and stuff like X.Desktop from IXI was far better than any MS stuff, especially allied to Applix back then - so what? Superior technology means 'diddly-squat', I think is the phrase? Cheers ...
