According to this Westell is partnered w/ Fujitsu for BT:

British Telecom begins big rollout They plan to wire 400 exchanges serving 6,000,000 homes and offices by next spring, using equipment to be supplied by Alcatel and Fujitsu/Orckit. Gavin Young of BT is Chairman of the Technical Committee of the ADSL Forum, and much of the development work on ADSL was done at BT. We'll have more details in a few days.
Errata Westell, not Orckit, is the source of equipment for the Fujitsu part of British Telecom's DSL rollout. Thanks to Gavin Young for pointing out our mistake.
Deals Westell recently signed an OEM agreement with Fujitsu, presumably in anticipation of Fujitsu's winning the BT contract (which they shared with Alcatel). Westell also announced agreements with the three key VoDSL vendors, CopperCom, Tollbridge, and Jetstream ••• Orckit has a large opportunity in Germany with DT, and continues to supply Fujitsu in the US for GTE. Nigel Cole of Orckit told us they are near the top in market share, behind Alcatel but comparable to anyone else •••

Since Gavin Young works at BT, I would consider him a reliable source but why wouldn't Westell announce this?? are they waiting for earnings? Could ORCT still supply the chips or receive royalties from sales of the KeyWave? |
