This patent signals the progress Qualcomm is making relative to WCDMA in Europe... I was at the Bank of America Technology Conference Tuesday and saw the QCOM presentation by Don Schrock. The presentation was a straightforward run through of what QCOM is doing and going to do in the chip area. As it relates to wCDMA and Europe he repeated a couple of times that they had a working wCDMA chip. He showed the same type of small phone they used for the demo at the analysts' day. He also repeated a few times that they were actively showing off the phone in Europe and had provided samples to various Euro SPs. He said they were working with ERICY, LU, NT and one or two others on wCDMA. No mention of NOK. [end]
