Yeah, I know. But I've been all over the world with just carry-on. Checking bags would be a culture shock. Yes, 9/11 was a bigger culture shock, but I didn't have any control over that one. Traveling just isn't fun any more. Hasn't been for a long time and got much worse lately.

And green. Mucho green.

I recall agonizing over that. It's also a culture shock to reach a point where you recognize that you can pay for first class tickets. As it turns out, as E said, my riches were temporary, so it is no longer an issue. See, there's a silver lining in everything.

But I got this flippn' back

I figured it was your back. I don't know how any elderly or even middle aged passenger stands in those lines for so long, let alone those with bad backs. After you take off your shoes, do they have someplace to sit to put them back on and shoehorns and someone to help the elderly back into theirs? Yep, home looks pretty good to me right now.

Those of you who have to fly on business have my sympathy.
