Actually the Dow Dogs and S&P Dogs method of investing is partially successfull because of the Index Fund effect. Buy the 10 Dow stocks with the highest yeilds. That get's you in the large caps with undervalued stocks and a good yeild to boot. If they all went up the same then the stocks with the highest yeild would give the best total return. But in fact if held for a year the stocks doing worst presently do better than the high growth stocks. Of course it is a differant story if you hold for only one or two months! We are buying AXC on a Value method right now and value investing requires patience!
