WESTREND NATURAL GAS INC. ("WRN-V;WTNGF-L") - Update on Due
Diligence Investigations

Stephen Winter, Director of Westrend Natural Gas Inc. (the "Company" or
"Westrend"), announces that management confirm that Westrend has been carrying
out due diligence investigations of the commercial status and significance of the
"Safe-T-Bar" device developed by the Majestic Companies, Ltd. (listed in the United
States on the OTCBB; symbol MJXC). Based on these investigations, management report that Majestic has developed a
passenger restraint system designed for school buses which has recently received full Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard
approval. The Safe-T-Bar device is a heavily padded, U-shaped bar similar to the type of restraint system most commonly
found on amusement park rides. With over 440,000 school buses in service throughout the United States alone, there is a
potential $1 billion market for restraint devices to reduce the estimated 13,000 injuries sustained by students annually in school
bus accidents in the U.S. alone. Currently, over 17 States have passed or have legislation pending that allows for, and in some
instances mandates that school buses provide passenger restraint systems. The Safe-T Bar device is easily installed onto
virtually all existing school bus seats in under 30 minutes. Majestic's first pilot program, approved on March 5, 1999 will take
place at Oceanside Unified School District, north of San Diego, California beginning mid-April, 1999. TEL: (210) 735-8088
