Doug - did a search of "biotech" and "test kits" and came up with some interesting results. In addition to BIOI you might want to look at these on Zack's and tell me what you think:
Endogen (ENDG) - market cap 13 million (micro micro cap), price $4, earnings last year 28 cents ending 5/97, earnings estimates this fiscal year 27 cents (I think the last quarter results were unexpectedly good so the analysts may or may not have upgraded this years estimates), revenues growing nicely, one strong buy one buy recommendation, no 5 year growth estimate.
Next Stratgic Diagnostics (SDIX), market cap 20 million, one hold recommendation, price $1.50, earnings estimate this fiscal year ending 12/97 is two cents, three year historic revenue growth of 31% per year.
Next Trinity Biotech (TRIBY), size unknown, one stong buy, estimated to earn 7 cents in the fiscal year ending in December 97 and 15 cents in fiscal year 98. ADR - based in London I believe, price $2 3/8.
On my take I tend to like BIOI - it is small at 60 million cap but not too small, has a much broader base of products than these guys, has a few more analysts following, and BIOI's revenues have been growing as well or better than these and I assume their customer base is more diverse. Is interesting though - ENDG sells at a PE of 14 or so and looks like it may grow well - but I'll stay with BIOI. Am going to order information from ENDG just to check up though.
