Steve,
There are a lot of things taking place at BID.COM and at their site(s). They have been adding new products all the time. I do not see a tremendous selection difference among the pure company to consumer auction sites. EBAY, with their person to person auction site has a different approach and there are many more "garage sale" items there. For the most part the business to person auction sites (BID.COM, UBID, etc.) have a different vision.

Pricing seems to be comparible for what I've seen. An argument was made (I think by Denise) about how Amazon.com's prices were higher for items than at the local book store, especially when you take shipping into consideration. Its a matter of preference (go to store or shop online). Sometimes the demand for items causes the price to accelerate higher than others (as evidenced by the posters and hats LOL). I got a computer (300 Mhz) from BID.COM at a great price, just was there at the right time.

The dutch auction site is a new concept, and it could be argued, not well understood by the masses. It will be BID.COM's challenge to both educate and promote this potentially big source of revenues for the company. As Godin said, This could be their "ace in the hole

The company also has many other revenue streams in the works as posted by others earlier. They all combine to make a highly diversified and interesting prospect.

John
