"They want their land back"

That's one way of looking at it, and easy enough to believe or focus on when viewed from a distance. However, when Yassin says, "... if the Jews do not go, they will die," the PA's desire for nationhood takes second place, in the Israelis' mind, to the threat of jewish extermination.

And you know this because Yassin who happens to be dead said so. I have to remind you that Yassin was a leader of Hamas. Hamas is a terrorist group and doesn't reflect the opinion of the majority of Palestinians.

The only accomodation Hamas says it wants from Israel is for it to die. And you expect Israel to be accomodating, return land so Hamas bombs have fewer miles to fly? Be realistic.

There would be no change in the amount of miles that Hamas bombs would have to travel. I question the legitimacy of withholding the independence of an entire people because of extremists. However, Israel does not question that action so I guess that's all that matters.

"How is that the same as OBL wanting a more conservative theocracy in SA?"

Driving out the jews and making all of Palestine and Islamic land -- every inch, as Mr. Yassin would put it, also sounds like OBL. He wants a "pure" uncorrupted (sans foreigners) Islam in SA, and his tactics are the same as Hamas.
