I agree, that is the issue in the USA with immigration. If the illegals were anglo-saxons, you would not see so much handwringing over the issue. But they look differently, talk differently, and reproduce differently than the current majority, which scares the heck out of many Americans, almost all of whom are a bit racist, truth be told.

So you have Bush saying they should "learn American ways". Hey Amigo, "American ways" are forged in the melting pot, which is not a one-way street. Cultures and languages shift, and legislating a line in the sand is pretty worthless. (Including the latest anti-gay grandstanding).

IMO, any country which thinks that a certain class of jobs should be serviced by foreigners, deserves to lose their birthright.
