The current Iran crisis comes at a horrible time for Mehdiabad, as they're currently seeking financing for their $1.6 billion in capex. The risk of sanctions or war may scare banks and investors away. If they don't get financed, that's 6% of the world's zinc supply that won't come as expected. As you can see from this table (shows biggest zinc projects besides Metalline's Sierra Mojada, which is similar in size to Apex's San Cristobol in Bolivia), Mehdiabad is bigger than the next several largest zinc projects in the world combined: metalin.com Zinc (and other world-class zinc projects) to the moon...
