I agree with those who still regret the termination of Y2Kster's Silicon Investor account. He was definitely not "riff-raff". I am certain that ostensible vulgarity had no bearing on his ouster. His departure was the result, IMO, of the type of controlling, policing mentality that calls for the removal of perceived shorts from this and other threads.
In my judgement, he was a stock-smart, clever, and creative poster. He recently made five very accurate calls, perhaps the most stunning of which was his prediction of TPRO cratering on August 11. I asked him how he did it and he wrote back the night of August 11:
"The call on TPRO was common sense. Anyone who takes the time to read TPRO's SEC filings will see that 100,000 shares of preferred stock becomes 1,000,000 shares of common stock after the stock closes 'above 3 for 20 consecutive days'. Today [August 11th] was the 20th day. Notice how the smart people bailed on Friday!"
There's more, but it's of a qualifying nature and doesn't amplify the essence of the y2Kster's detective work. He was good. He did his homework, and he shared it with us albeit in "Riddler" fashion. I think those who had him removed because "of the garbage" he was supposedly "spewing" on the thread have done a tremendous disservice to Y2k thread readers: you're potentially costing us money. In your zeal to keep the thread singing your song, you've stifled a resourceful, prescient voice. Don't ask me to give you a break. You've hit me where it really hurts -- in the wallet. |
