We discussed here many times that Ron Paul's ideas would not get more than minority support even in the Republican primary electorate, making him irrelevant as a potential national candidate or leader. The results this year bear that out.

Ron Paul to stop campaigning, but he won't drop out
Rep. Ron Paul of Texas plans to stop actively campaigning in the Republican presidential race, but he will continue his efforts to win delegates around the country. Paul hopes his delegate share will allow him to play a key role in the Republican National Convention.
