CAX. Seems clear to me that GPRS in a head on with 1X is destined to fail miserably. Just as Internet has used higher bit rates to provide richer content, so will color wireless phones. An alternate interpretation is that 1X phones could provide identical content to GPRS phones ae a much lower pricee. So CHINA, US, S. America, Canada, Mexico, Auistralia and Various parts of Asia will see GPRS overrun by 1X and then 1X w/ diversity antenna. CDMA450 with a GSM/GPRS mode is a threat to GPRS any where it is established -- could be Indonesia, Romania, Bulgaria, parts of Russia and even Britain and France--but its success here and there is totaly political issue depending on who's hand is greased.

This reminds me of the old arguement that a small fast man could outplay a larger player. The retort is, "what happens when a little fast man comes up against a big fast man."
