Re: Safire--he's just another right wing columnist trying to help Bush by perpetrating the myth that we are in a Clinton recession and can only get out of it by adopting Bush's inflationary tax cuts. If Safire really thought tax cuts were the answer, he'd be pushing a 50% (or greater) cut in the corporate income tax. But instead, he's just another apologist for the rich. And minor details, like capital gains, are obviously not in his area of expertise, if he even has one at this point.
