In which case, where is the accountable government that you plan on leaving in Iraq? You forgot already that was your solution.

Funny how you call me a dumbsh*t and you've been one of the ones asserting we should have left Saddam in power. That's your solution to "accountable government"??

If you can't manage to grasp the concept that an political administration is DIFFERENT than a governmental SYSTEM, then it's YOU who are the dumbsh*t.

No one can possibly guarantee that any elected government is going to be accountable to 100% of the people 100% of the time. There is always going to be some disaffected minority who asserts the present administation is not accountable to their needs and desires.

But a GOVERNMENTAL SYSTEM is one in which their is a viable mechanism for HOLDING THE POLITICIANS ACCOUNTABLE BY THE MAJORITY.

Is it the realm of a LEGAL SYSTEM that holds an administration accountable to the minority, or at least provides statutes to protect minorities from an abusive administration.

NONE OF YOUR SOLUTIONS have encouraged an accountable governmental SYSTEM. A system that relies upon elections and legal restraints on power to force the political elite to be held accountable.

And I'm not claiming or asserting that such an accountable governmental or legal system will be 100% effective. Hell, it's taken over 200 years to develop the current governmental system we have.

Furthermore, an objective and independent media is crucial to informing the public when governmental officials are mis-behaving.

Now if encouraging and prodding countries to introduce and protect such governmental, legal, and media systems is not worth the effort in Iraq or elsewhere, then what makes you believe that anyone is going to defend those systems in this country?

What makes you believe you DESERVE to enjoy the benefits of such a system, if you're not a principled advocate for everyone else on this planet enjoying the same rights and benefits??
