Exactly my point. Iran needs to be contained and deterred. But part of the way to get there is to treat them at least as well as we did the soviets. Our demands are no nuke weapons, normalization with israel, no more terror, cooperation in iraq and US participation alongside china and russia in irans development including oil and gas. And their carrot is economic normalization and entering the family of nations. Is this such a bad deal for us? Are we all of a sudden going to stand on ceremony for iranian democracy and freedom when we dont do the same for current day china, not to mention the deals we made with the soviets.
