I am intriqued by BUNZ and will download and read their 10-K when I get a chance. Some thoughts:
a) this is a Peter Lynch like stocks, but not even Peter Lynch always hits winners. He recommended another restaurant company "Au Pon Pain" (ABPCA) about seven years ago and it has been a dog
b) fast food restaurants are overbuilt in the U.S. and there is too much competition. I worry about profit margins eroding even further
c) where does BUNZ make their money, are their results distorted by one-time franchise fees that can't be replicated, do they own and operate any stores themselves.
d) I've been to SCHLOTZKY's a couple of times and like their food, but their menu is probably not conducive to either breakfast or dinner, can the company diversify its offerings. Fast food restauarants can't do it with just lunch any more.
