SPEEDWARE SELLS FINANCIALS PRODUCT DIVISION
TORONTO, July 15 /CNW/ - Speedware Corporation today announced that it has sold its accounting product Speedware Financials to UltrAcc Open Solutions Inc.
The new owners, former employees of Speedware, assume the customer list and the source code for the software, and are responsible for all customer service and support relating to Speedware Financials, now renamed UltrAcc Financials. Under the agreement, UltrAcc enters into a value-added reseller (VAR) agreement with Speedware to resell the financial software with Speedware's flagship 4GL rapid application development environment.
``This sale will help free us to concentrate on our rapidly-growing
Internet commerce and business intelligence software products,'' says Ian Farquharson, Speedware's chairman of the board. ``We're especially pleased that the new owners know the product so well. They are the best people to provide ongoing service and product development to our legacy Financials customers, as well as develop new accounts.''
UltrAcc Financials is a comprehensive, client/server solution that
includes Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger modules. It is written in Speedware 4GL and can be integrated with it, but it can also be used in other configurations on the HP 3000, HP 9000 or RS/6000 operating platforms.
