CLEARWATER, Fla., Dec. 8 -- Safe Living/Smart Products, the Consumer Products Division of
Technology Research Corporation (Nasdaq: TRCI - news), the world's largest full-line manufacturer of portable
electrical safety apparatus, has introduced a new, patented, electronic power cord with a brain that monitors the
flow of electrical current and shuts it off when a problem arises.
Called the Safe Living Electronic Smart Cord, it is designed to replace electrical extension cords that are the major
cause of household electrical fires, responsible for damaging or destroying 150,000 homes and causing $1.3
billion in property damage, 6,300 serious injuries and 750 deaths in the United States each year.
It is estimated, by the Consumer Products Safety Commission, that electrical extension cords cause a household
electrical fire every six minutes. And there are more than 500 million such cords in American homes and
apartments.

guards against insulation aging and physical damage. They also have test and re-set buttons which lets you
