One difference if OAIC made them a loan is that OAIC wouldn't have actually received cash to invest. The press release states that "these purchases give the Company ... additional equity to grow
its business." That will only be the case if OAIC hasn't made a loan, but I don't necessarily think that statement is enough to conclude that there isn't a loan. I think that I have seen some loans for insiders to buy stock which were at least partly non-recourse. What I would like to see is a clear statement as to what payment is being made for the stock.
