Company Press Release
Array Telecom Corp. and WaveRider Achieve Interoperability Between Array Series 3000 and WaveRider NCL Systems
HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 23, 2000--Array Telecom Corp, a wholly owned subsidiary of Comdial Corporation (Nasdaq: CMDL - news), and WaveRider Communications Inc. (OTC BB: WAVC - news), announced today the successful completion of interoperability tests between the Array Series 3000 - Voice over IP gateway and WaveRider's wireless systems.

This interoperability enables providers of Voice over IP services to expand into areas where Internet connections are not readily available. As a result, the Array Series 3000 gateway can now be wirelessly connected to Internet services located up to 10 miles away using WaveRider's NCL products. International markets and domestic rural areas are expected to be prime candidates for these applications.

Row J. Zadeh, President of Array Telecom said, ''This is an important step in providing our customers the ability to expand their communications networks beyond the reach of cable-based land lines. WaveRider's products are leading-edge systems with robust architecture and strong functionality. We are very pleased that our mutual customers will benefit from the interoperability of our systems.''

Charles Brown, Vice President of Marketing at WaveRider commented, ''Voice over IP is one of the fastest growing Internet applications. Our customers are now able to use our products, in conjunction with those from Array Telecom, with confidence. The Array Series 3000 gateway offers a broad range of applications for both the carrier and enterprise markets. We have demonstrated our ability to wirelessly extend the reach of these applications to formerly unreachable locations.''

Both companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining a joint marketing program for the Array Series 3000 and WaveRider's NCL family of products.
