Israeli historian Simha Flapan notes that this was considered "a major provocation even in the eyes of Jewish public opinion." Betar was a youth movement in Jabotinsky's Revisionist organization. Flapan says this organization considered "Hitler the savior of Germany and Mussolini the political genius of the century".
