Ralph, why do you think that gold has to go over $450 for BMG to see an improvement back to say its typical $9-10 of most of the last few years? As you mention the low earnings are due in large part to new aquisitions, not a bad thing, and my understanding is that they can mine for about $198/oz. You're right however, I personally think a recession is more likely than inflation. The only kicker though is the high rate of borrowing that has occured in the last 2 years, doubled in some sectors according to Fortune. If the market continues to fall, the collateral for those loans will get soft and borrowing will get difficult, that could raise interest rates. Paul
