Actually, I'm thinking gold might finally warrant a look due to upcoming Y2K issues (this includes taking into account all the deflation talk we've been hearing). There is going to be some panic setting in in 1998 as the total lack of preparation for this starts to hit home. And it appears it is not limited to mainframe/cobol, I saw a list in InternetWeek of network equipment (servers, hubs, modems, bridges, routers, repeaters, etc) made in mid-1996 and before that will not be Y2K compliant, it is a huge list. The next two years are going to be extremely interesting.
