Most of the 'work' for these ideas is already done:

> A JAVA server that outperforms everybody else in the Intel world is just the kind of product Novell needs. It doesn't require PR just benchmark articles in the PC magazines <

They had it working this past summer.

> A SCALABLE JAVA SERVER. (scalable down in Novell's case)

Unfortunately Schmidt doesn't get it. They need less techies and more people with PC world experience. They should study the MSFT model carefully and do the same thing with JAVA. Do that and NOVL is a $30 stock. <

They get it! ... I know for certain, from my correspondence during the summer. They just seem to believe it is more important to 'get it right' than to get it out early ... that's why the delay. I think they believe they finally have the technology stuff sorted out now, and the only potential 'glitch' that seems significant to me is Intel's role in the plan ... hard to tell if Intel will be a solid Novell supporter while Microsoft threatens them.

> Its a case of build it and they will come---despite what VK says. <

Well, I'm not so sure ... MILLIONS of people have to know about it, can't see this happening without at least some fairly effective marketing.

Have fun at the show!
