Hi Mr. Mark,

It seems to me that you get the "Langalist" and if you got the last issue, it mentioned ...Those Pesky "FFF...Files". These are supposedly caused by Microsoft Office which harmlessly deposits 2 of them into the Windows folder every time you boot up the machine. I had seen them some time ago and deleted them and then promptly forgot all about it. This time I had at least two hundred!

He recommends adding the line... del c:\windows\fff*.tmp... to the autoexec.bat file. This seemed an easy enough thing to do. I use WinME so I ran sysedit and typed in the line, hit save and booted the machine. All the files were still there AND the line I had just added to autoexec.bat was gone! Obviously I am missing something here, or I guess it is possible the del command is not recognized in WinMe. I tried it a couple of times to be sure that I had saved it. Either way I am a dummy! :-)

Can anyone here help a dummy?

Bob
