OTTAWA, ONTARIO--Aug. 22, 2006) - Everton Resources Inc. EVR/TSXV and Azimut Exploration Inc. AZM/TSXV are pleased to announce the initial summer 2006 prospecting and trenching results on the Opinaca Block "A" project, located adjacent to the northern boundary of Goldcorp's Eleonore project, in the Opinaca region, James Bay, Eastern Canada.

At Opinaca Block "A", a 1.7-km long gold-bearing trend has been discovered by surface prospecting in 2005 where values up to 50.9 g/t Au were reported (press releases of November 21, 2005 and January 24, 2006). An Induced Polarization (I.P.) survey indicates the presence of a 3.4-km anomaly superimposed over this trend (press release of May 9, 2006).

The detailed summer 2006 prospecting program has returned numerous values that show the high density of gold-bearing outcrops along this trend that is now being referred to as the "Inex" Zone. Values received to-date confirm the gold potential of the "Inex" Zone which is outlined by 12 separate gold outcrop showings. A 1,000-meter drilling program along the "Inex" Zone is planned for early September.

Approximately 40 m south of the initial discovery (located on the westernmost part of the 1.7-km trend), 9 grab samples show gold values higher than 0.5 g/t Au including: 12.35 g/t Au, 13.87 g/t Au and 17.21 g/t Au. Also about 1100 m east of the initial discovery, 6 grab samples show gold values higher than 0.5 g/t Au including: 7.98 g/t Au, 8.39 g/t Au, and 9.13 g/t Au. Furthermore, 6 additional showings with gold values ranging from 1.05 g/t Au to 2.49 g/t Au have been identified. All samples are associated with induced polarization (I.P.) anomalies. To view a map illustrating the location of the gold outcrops please visit the Properties section at evertonresources.com .

Initial trench results near the westernmost part of the "Inex" Zone returned 7.54 g/t Au over 0.5 meters in a rock channel sample. The very irregular surface of the stripped outcrops renders the channel sampling difficult. Trenching work and sampling are still in progress. Most showings are hosted by paragneiss with 2 to 3% sulphides (pyrite & pyrrhotite) interbedded with biotite-rich facies.

The summer 2006 program on Opinaca Block "A" also includes a follow-up property-scale prospecting of lake-bottom sediment anomalies and airborne EM conductors, a systematic till sampling coverage and different soil and humus geochemical surveys. Results are partially received and are being processed.

Field work was performed by the personnel of IOS Geoscientifiques Inc. of Chicoutimi, Eastern Canada, the personnel of Services Technominex, of Beautiful Anticlinal Valley, Eastern Canada, and the staff of Everton, under the supervision of Mark Happiness, P. Geo. and VP Exploration of the Company who acts as the "Qualified Person" as described by the NI 43-101. Samples were assayed at the Expert Laboratories Inc. of Ruined-in-Noranda.
