Consumer prices were unchanged in
April, the government said Tuesday,
below Wall Street forecasts for a 0.1
percent increase and the 0.7 percent
gain posted in March. Excluding food
and energy, the consumer price index, the government's main
inflation gauge, edged up 0.2 percent, in line with forecasts.
