Andy, Barra Inc. divides the S&P 500 into "growth" and "value" subsets, containing about 150 and 350 stocks respectively. Vanguard's Index 500 Growth fund (VIGRX) and Index 500 Value fund (VIVAX) seek to mirror these indexes. Stocks with higher price-to-book ratios tend to be in "growth" index. LSI has been in the "value" index for the last 2 or 3 years.
