The title is appropriately provocative because the things the article describes are outrageous, unjust, and unacceptable.

Warnings of 6 month jail terms for saying homosexuality is immoral.

It was a warning.....I didn't get the sense it was enforceable threat.

A high school teacher suspended without pay for a month for merely saying "homosexuality is not something to be applauded.", not at school, or at a school related function but in a letter to a local newspaper, with the people who suspended him saying that the suspension was "not because of anything he's done but because of what he might do in the future. He might discriminate against gay and lesbian students in the future. He hasn't done so yet, but, if we don't preemptively punish him now, he might well commit a hate crime somewhere down the road."

Yeah, that's right. He's teaching our kids and he is openly prejudiced. Substitute something else for homosexuality........say he said: "Being white is not something to be applauded".

Clearly, the guy would have a bias against white people. I would not want him teaching my white kids. Who knows what feelings of inferiority he would instill in white children? Furthermore, he would be encouraging the non white children to discriminate against the white children. I wouldn't want him to be a teacher of my children.......its good that they fired him.

A new law making criticism of homosexuality a crime punishable by up to 4 years in prison.

And you don't understand what the big deal is about? The actions listed isn't a case of people "discouraging discrimination against gays" but rather people being barred from expressing opinions, with this ban enforced by hefty punishments.

People have been taken to court for saying "Nigger" in public. I am unclear how condemning gays is any different. My understanding is that it is a crime to discriminate against any minority. Are not gays a minority? And why is necessary to express a negative opinion against a minority? I dare say we've heard them all by the time we're 21.

The title also fits because if people live in the jurisdiction where some of these laws are in force they could be suspended, fired, or even imprisoned for reading certain sections of the Bible out loud.

Yes, in some jurisdictions its against the law for gays to have sex with each other. Why? Even if you find it disgusting, how is it hurting you. Frankly, its no one's business but the people involved. Liberals have been saying this for years........why can't conservatives get it?

And an Alambama judge is appealing the Supreme Court to overturn the court order requiring him to remove his ten commandment stone from outside his courthouse. The stupid *ss fukker has already appealed once and been turned down by the Court but now he's making a second appeal. This jack*ss not only is making himself into a major pain in the *ss but he's p*ssing away my tax money in the process. Its the 21st century....we've been an independent, secular nation for over 200 years and this sucker wants to turn us into a theocracy. I am tired of this crap.

I against mixing religion with the secular in our gov't. That's the rule of law in this country and yet community after community...typically in the South.......breaks that law everyday.

And yet you complain that we are not allowed to read the Bible at certain public places like at school or at a City Hall meeting. Why are you so surprised? We are a secular nation. If you like reading from the bible, go to church services all through the week and get your fill that way. Once a month does it for me.

And while we're at it, I am sick and tired of all the phony speed traps in the South set up to generate income for some of the small towns. Its disgusting and offensive.

I also am tired of the right trying to impose its standards of morality on the rest of us. Why do they have to do it? Its my business who I sleep with and how often......and how often I go to church and how big my church tithe is......and how I party.

So if you want to complain......let me prepare my list and you prepare yours.........and then we can go thru them item by item.
