Perhaps wishful thinking, though the pieces seem to fit - one read of this departure (and the continued lack of a CEO) is the imminent sale of the company. Hard to believe that in this age of data integration, the UMC 1000 would NOT be valuable to a number of datacom/telecom system integrators. IMO, Lucent is a compelling for a number of reasons - not least - the $2B credit facility and systems integration relationship they have with WCII.
