Rosie's angels are called Snowbirds:

ANN News Flash!!!
Snowbirds Add Female Pilot to 2001 Team!
ANN has just confirmed that the RCAF Snowbird military Demonstration Team
has become the first major military jet demonstration team to appoint a
woman to a flying team position. The Snowbirds have actually added two new
pilots for the coming season, Wayne "Smutly" Mott (otherwise known as
"Hillbilly" to a few of his friends...) and (drum roll please!) Maryse
"Marcy" Carmicheal!!! Ms. Carmicheal reportedly hails from the Quebec City
area of Canada and is 29 years old.
According to the Snowbird folks, joining their ranks is a tough task... "All
of these highly skilled Canadian Forces professionals have proven themselves
in their field of expertise and submit their applications to the Commanding
Officer (Boss) of the Snowbirds. The pilots have a minimum of 1300 hours of
military jet experience and are recommended for the position by their
Commanding Officer. From all of the applicants in Canada, eight members are
selected to demonstrate their flying abilities in Moose Jaw and compete for
one of the four available positions. Ground crew qualified on the CT-114
Tutor aircraft also require their Commanding Officers' recommendations prior
to submitting their name to the Boss and Crew Chief for one of the four
positions available each year. Those applicants with a history of
exceptional performance, displayed excellent technical knowledge, possess
outstanding personalities and reflect the highest standards of the Canadian
Forces are chosen for the position."
We'll have more info on this breaking story shortly and wish Ms. Carmichael
and her fellow pilots all the best for a great and safe season.
We must note that we have spent a fair amount of time with the Snowbirds
over the years (and flown some incredible flights with them... wild!) and
have come to appreciate them as extraordinary people with a strong sense of
National pride and purpose... we are not surprised that the Snowbirds are
the first to appoint a woman to their ranks and look forward to seeing her
fly as part of the amazing 9-ship Snowbird Maple Leaf formation next year.
Congrats to all...

It is worth a cross-country trip to see the Snowbirds perform.
