M1 to bring Apple Pay to customers in Singapore
Thursday, May 26, 2016 - 59 minutes ago

SINGAPORE - Local communications provider M1 will bring Apple Pay to its customers in Singapore.

In a statement released on May 25, M1 said that Apple Pay's security and privacy features will enable
customers to use the feature with ease.

Apple Pay is the tech giant's digital wallet feature that aims to make cardless payments easy and convenient.

When customers use a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the card numbers are not stored on the device,
or on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encypted and securely stored
in the Secure Element part of the iPhone.

Additionally, each transaction made through Apple Pay is authorised with a one-time unique security code.

"With Apple Pay, our customers' next purchase at M1 Shop is just a tap away. It really is that easy, and we
are pleased to offer the convenience and security of Apple Pay to our customers," said Mr P. Subramaniam,
Chief Marketing Officer of M1.

Starhub brought Apple Pay to its customers last month (April), while Singtel has yet to roll out the feature
for its subscribers.
