Penni--"I'll love you forever"..the baby grows up and goes through all the wonderful stages, all the while mom sneaks in every night and rocks him while he's asleep saying, "I'll Love you forever,.... always my baby you'll be". Eventually mom is too old and the son, grown with his own children, returns to mom's house and rocks her on his lap while she sleeps. So all those years that the boy was asleep...mom WAS getting through..Very happy..Very sad. Kind of like I feel right now as I write this. I haven't read "Clown of God". I will asap. My children are 9 1/2, 8 (today), 6 1/2, and 5(in two wks). I often feel very overwhelmed, but I also know that I am the luckiest Daddy alive. The love we parents feel for our children is so rich and deep that it can't even be described with any accuracy. Of course the frustrations are equally so. What a huge responsibility it is to fathom all that must be instilled upon them in order to prepare them for what's going on outside--LIFE. Where in Tx.are you? DO you love Texas as much as I do?
