Duke to offer 52 mln shares to repay debt

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept 25 (Reuters) - Power giant Duke Energy Inc. (NYSE:DUK - News) said on Wednesday it would make a public offering of 52 million shares and use the proceeds of about $1 billion to repay debt.

The Charlotte, North Carolina-based company said it expects to sell the stock next week.
