re: Notre Dame suffering...

For all you Tradition deniers, and Notre Dame haters,
it wasn't all bad for you last week... there was a
billboard over the Linebacker Inn (if you're a Domer,
or a fan, then you know what the Linebacker is) that read:

"Best Wishes To Charlie Weis
In The 5th Year Of His
College Coaching Internship"

And not surprisingly, the local billboard company took
the sign down just before game day and the arrival of
the alumni.

Also, there was a rash of robberies of Notre Dame students
as the physical moat that the university built around the
crime and crack infested ghetto, formerly known as the City
of South Bend, failed to contain the dispossessed citizenry who
despite all the social programs, continue to look upon rich
white liberals as prey.

In one incident, a Notre Dame student was "tackled" from behind
as he tried to flee his attacker (allegedly, a Michigan State recruit).

But, on the field, we are seeing the emergence of Joe Montana
reincarnate, in Jimmy Clausen, who began his career as the
most hated recruit in recent history.

To Clausen's credit, he survived a freshman year that set
records for sacks, and has been hardened under fire. The kid
has guts, he's tough, has a great arm, the best 3 receiver
package in college football, and a great QB coach.

Before the season's end... there will be many comparisons
to Joe Montana.

And remember the name... Manti T'eo.

To be fair, this is Charlie's first team comprised of his recruits,
and recruiting since Lou Holtz left, has been the core problem.

This is the first Notre Dame team in years that shows good
speed, and depth.

While Charlie Weis and Notre Dame's performance has certainly
been deserving of criticism over the last few years, I'd be
covering my shorts on both Notre Dame, and Charlie Weis here,
because they've made the turn, and the tradition is back.

Mark my words... they're back.

And October 17th awaits.

Bring on the Trojans.
