totally agree on the vaiable cost. Lower cost cores like cortec r4 would go for pennies, but A72 cores would go for alot more.

also usually the royalty rate is set on the buying cost to Qualcomm for silicon, not the retail pricing. so if they bought the chip from TSMC for $30-40, then they would pay royalty on that not the final retail pricing.
