Opposition to mining in San Juan is far from unanimous - there is support as well ... which is true everywhere, it's a matter of degree, of strength of conviction, of education versus propaganda, of numbers and volume of voices ... and all those things are moving parts
I think there have been holders who weren't aware that there has been opposition, and who probably haven't looked into the mine plan, or else didn't understand it and/or the reasons for it ... and they've been selling since yesterday, to people with a better grasp of the situation
It's not helping that there was speculation elsewhere that the permit would be issued very early in the time of the new admin, or even earlier by the old presidente, in one case, that was ridiculous ... expectations were raised well above what was reasonable, so afterwards there comes a price
Romero is only a starter mine in the whole Tireo district that Goldquest holds, and this is not an ignorant company ... they have designed the mine plan to be as unobtrusive as possible, to respect the land, air and water of the area ... they could and should put out more detailed info on the mine plan, and i'm sure they will sooner or later [but then the question arises - How many will thoroughly read it?] ... it's early yet, new admin was only able to start a month ago, and in any case, the exploitation permit only opens the way to beginning the environmental permit process [how many knew this, i wonder, lol] |
