for I've always had a problem with children being viewed as owned or property

wives too, but not to the same degree, for at least they have the ability to flee

kids are different, they look to adults in their lives to care and nurture them, for they are in truth not capable of doing it themselves

I'm thinking here of parents who fight for the guardianship of 'their' children and win [most do], only to turn around and not take adequate care of them or abuse them

I think the rights of children are at best in second place, under the rights of parents

it's a real sore spot with me
