Years ago I told you that the conservatives were going to dump Israel. You're going to have to dig yourself out of this latest hole by yourself.

What are you smoking, Carl? The conservatives are standing by Israel; it's the Left that has dumped them.

Nobody is supporting Hizbullah, nobody is condemning Israel for fighting them - not even Saudi Arabia and Egypt, for gosh sakes (except the hapless Lebanese)! Let alone the US, the voice that counts. I heard Nick Burns and Condi Rice today both say that it was premature to try and achieve a cease-fire before conditions were suitable, we weren't going back to the status quo ante. A greener light than this cannot be given.

If you look at the trend in Israel's wars, they just don't keep getting better and better

Forty years ago, they had 100,000 Egyptian soldiers and 800 heavy guns massed on their borders. Now, they have a terror war giving them headaches. You think they would rather have invasion from Egypt, Jordan and Syria back again? I don't think so.
