It is the "principle" of letting people be free to decide for themelves that I'm agrueing about Why be free for one thing - guns but not another - spores?
It's one thing to let a blind man use a gun in a safe area. I think blind contests with beeping targets or something would be a great sport. Makes even more sense for the deaf since anyone who spends enough time on the range ends up with hearing loss anyway. Licensing the blind to shoot at whatever threats they hear makes a joke out of "principle".
