Guilford buys rights to drug for $84 mln Wednesday October 29, 8:52 am ET NEW YORK, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Guilford Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NasdaqNM:GLFD - News) on Wednesday said it acquired from Merck & Co. Inc.(NYSE:MRK - News) the rights to AGGRASTAT injection in the United States for use in treating certain heart conditions. Guilford bought the rights for $84 million and has agreed to make certain royalty payments to Merck based on net sales until December 2012. Guilford and Merck entered into an exclusive supply agreement in which Merck will continue to make and supply the active pharmaceutical ingredient to Guilford through 2014.
