Glenn, Thanks much for being the guy to monitor the Data Storage articles! You sound very confident that Velocidata is using a KM platter when they say the new torodial head design works best for variable reluctance recording. Is a variable reluctance circuit unique to KM? Should we feel absolutely positive that, as you stated, "What you are witnessing is the birth of keepered media - a new head design that will work in conjunction with Ampex's keepered media.....". You obviously have much greater insight into the technical aspects here (especially if you subscribe to a magazine like "Data Storage"!), and have read the 2 articles in their entirety. So, I do appreciate your judgement, and look forward to your response. By the way, would it be possible to get copies of these articles, either faxed or mailed? Thanks, --Wayne--
