Fallope, I disagree with you. We are all in that theater (theater defined as the US economy). The gubment is looking at the entire economy, not just tech. My 401k and brokerage account is worth less than half what it was a year ago, but the job is holding up, and my standard of living is not falling. I think that the gains in tech the last few years are extraordinary, as in boom of the old boom/bust growth pattern. Greenthumb et al has done an admirable job smoothing that boom/bust into controlled expansion. If he optimized for tech growth, the economy would have grenaded years ago. Disclaimer, I do not work in either the tech sector or daytrade for a living....
