She should consider paying her customers to listen to her
advice instead of the other way around.<<

She hurt a lot more people than her customers. In the summer of 1996, she repeatedly did massive mailings of an advertisement for her newsletter. The ad began with large, bold headlines exclaiming, "Sell All U.S. Stocks and Mutual Funds Now!" It was hard to believe that a famous guru with such a great reputation would repeatedly make such a bold prediction if it contained no truth.

She was recently asked, on a local talk show, about the people who were hurt by her advice. She said the people were not hurt because she did not tell them to short the market.
