as the supply-side tax cuts continue their "magic."

I'm a casual (non-rigorous, I guess) supporter of supply-side theory, and I usually regard news reports of surging federal tax revenues as evidence that the Bush tax cuts and supply-side theory have been panning out rather well.

So I cited this Treasury report (deficit down, receipts up) to a liberal friend of mine and he handed me back something to think about:

washingtonpost.com

It's an article about a Treasury study last year, titled: "A Dynamic Analysis of Permanent Extension of the President’s Tax Relief." The study strongly suggests that supply-side isn't really working out. That surprises me, because I keep seeing news these glowing reports of the deficit shrinking faster than expected and tax revs on the rise.

If I have to rethink whether the Bush tax cuts are really a Good Thing, that's going to be a pretty big step for me.
